LEAGUES

The Club Leagues start in May and run weekly.

Please note that if you are unable to play a game on the scheduled date, the rearranged game must be played PRIOR to the next scheduled game being played if possible.

League games

  1. All of the rinks will be pre-determined and shown on the scorecardsbefore the leagues commence
  2. Entry is open to all fully paid-up members who are available to play on the designated day of the competition.
  3. Entrants shall form their own teams before nominating to include no more than 1 extra player per team.
  4. Draws for opponents and rinks will be made by the Bowling Committee at the beginning of the season. Rinks must not be changed on the day of the competition without prior arrangement with the member of the Committee in charge of the competition.
  5. At the end of the games, Skips shall be responsible for handing the completed score card to the Committee member in charge of the league or placing it in the designated box in the Club House.
  6. Points awarded – 2 points for win, 1 point for draw. If more than 1 team completes its fixtures with the same points, the team with the best shot difference will be declared the winner of the league. If there is still no winner, then matches against each other will be taken into account.
  7. No player can be a substitute in a League in which he/she is registered for another team. All substitutes must be sanctioned by the Bowling Committee.
  8. The person in charge of each league will have sole responsibility for deciding if play is possible during bad weather and their decision shall be final. The number of ends or shots may be reduced before play begins but only in extreme weather conditions will the number of ends or shots be reduced whilst play is in progress. In the event of games being stopped due to inclement weather or poor light, participants must arrange to complete the game at a later date and the score and ends will stand as they were when the game was stopped.
  9. If at the time of commencement, the Committee member declares the green fit for play, matches must be played. If any team decides not to play their match they must be aware that the game may be conceded to their opponents. If both teams decline to play then the match may be declared Null & Void. Only games postponed because of weather  conditions can be re-arranged
  10. All games in all leagues must be played on or before the due date – no exceptions will be made. Failure to comply with this ruling will result in  one or both teams concerned being penalized as follows:- A team deemed to be at fault will forfeit the game and their opponents will be awarded 2 points and a shot difference of +8. In the event of both teams being deemed at fault, the game shall be declared Null & Void
