CLUB COMPETITION DRAWS NOW LIVE

The draws have been done for this year's club competitions.  Details can be found by clicking here

CLUB RESULTS

A lot of games have happened recently.  It has been fantastic to see the club enter 2 teams in both the Two Fours and Allcock Trophy competitions.  Unfortunately all our teams fell at the first hurdle against strong opposition form Bolton and Heaton Hall - but not without some really excellent games, some which went right down to the wire.  The experience will make our club stronger.

On Wednesday 11th June we are entertaining Heaton Hall in the Men's Top Club at 6pm.  This promises to be a great evening of bowls (the tournament foramt means we will play each other in 2-wood singles, 4-wood singles, pairs, triples, and fours).  Come and support if you are not playing.

The Ladies' Top Club fixture is still to be arranged.

CLUB MEMBERS REPRESENTING LANCASHIRE

Huge congratulations to George Tague and Ellsie Johnson on playing for Lancashire in the recent White Rose and Amy Rose competitions.  It's fantastic to see our youngsters achieving these honours in such prestigious tournaments at such a young age.  This bodes really well for the future of our club and the county.

Congratulations too to Paul Crummey, Francis Welsh, Lewis Rimmer, and Shayne Rimmer on their selection for the Middleton Cup game in Northumbria on 7th June.

Meanwhile, George Tague, Kenny Baxter, Keith Baker, Steve Goulding, and Dave Lattimore will be playing in the Alsop Trophy game at Silloth in Cumbria.

Paul Crummey, Steve Goulding, and Dave Lattimore have also been selected to play in the new O60s Inter County competition against Lincolnshire on June 17th]

Busy times!!

On Friday 20th June we have Sefton Primary Schools visiting us once more.  This is always a really popular event and is proving a good recruitment area for the club.  As always as much help as possible on the day is always appreciated.

WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE

We are a friendly club and encourage new bowlers to come and give the game a try. Bowls is a sociable game, a healthy outdoor sport and above all it’s for ALL ages

So, if you are young or not so young, experienced or a beginner, and you would like to give it a try, do come down to our Club just off the Promenade in Kings Gardens, and you will be made very welcome.

Southport Bowling Club offers:-

  1. Free coaching by qualified instructors
  2. The loan of equipment, avoiding the need to incur any expense until you are sure the game is for you

Southport Bowling Club is the only Flat Green Bowling Club in the Southport and Liverpool area. Established in 1937 our two bowling greens are located at the south end of the Marine Lake in Kings Gardens just off the Promenade. There is a large clubroom with adjacent changing and locker facilities.

We have a reputation for being a very friendly sociable club and new members are made very welcome. For the new bowler we offer free taster sessions and free coaching plus the loan of suitably sized bowls. The only proviso, you must wear footwear with smooth soles and no heels.

Our playing season begins in April and runs through the summer months to the middle of September. Club roll ups are held on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. These games are a relaxed and easy way to learn, improve and play bowls.

Social Bowling may also take place at weekends and in the week when the greens are available and not in use for organised competitions.

For those players wishing to play in a more competitive arena the club enters teams, and individual players enter both National and County competitions. Various Club Leagues run on weekdays for members to enjoy a competitive game in addition to Club Competitions.  A number of social events take place throughout the year, Bowl and Dine, Quiz nights, and Bingo. Special themed events take place throughout the summer and also the winter months

We open our second Green to members of the public, with a Green Fee payable.
